Hello Detectives,
We have some exciting progress to share this month! Following our file preparation in February, we have officially received the print files from our manufacturing partners.
Current Production Status: Our team is currently deep in the "audit" phase. We are combing through every single card file to ensure that all previous updates were applied correctly and that every card is accounted for.
To be honest, this is a lengthy and meticulous process because there are just SO MANY CARDS in Legacy of Eastbrook Hills! However, we know how important accuracy is for a detective game, so we are taking the time to do it right. We are pushing through the final sets now and fully plan to have the game actually on the printing presses before our next monthly update.
BackerKit & Support Reminder: As a reminder, BackerKit was closed and most cards were charged on January 28th.

Hello Detectives,
It is a short update this month as the team remains focused on final file preparation. We are getting everything lined up to hit the ground running with our manufacturing partners in China once they return from the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Production Progress: All content files have been updated by our US team and are currently with the graphics department. They are performing a detailed technical review to ensure that all card edits integrate perfectly with the print layouts and bleed lines.
Once the team in China returns, they will take these files and begin preparing the printing plates. We will perform one final comprehensive pass at that stage to verify every card and component is present and correct before giving the "green light" for mass production.
BackerKit & Billing Update: As a reminder, BackerKit was closed and cards were charged on January 28th for the majority of backers.

Hello Mystery Fans,
First, I want to apologize for the brief silence. While things may have seemed quiet, the team has been head-down focusing on final file preparation and sharing the game with potential international partners.
International Language Partners
While this specific campaign remains focused on the English edition, we are currently in discussions to bring Legacy of Eastbrook Hills to French and Spanish audiences in the near future through retail partners.
If you know any mystery fans in those communities who would love to see a localized version, please encourage them to let their voices be heard on the BoardGameGeek (BGG) forums! Demonstrating strong international interest helps us secure these partnerships and grow the world of Eastbrook Hills.
File Preparation & Polish
We have been hard at work on a final "text cleanup" phase before submitting the official files to the factory.
While the game was already in a fantastic state, our recent deep-dive file reviews and additional playtests have allowed us to find small areas where we could improve mechanical clarity. We’ve also taken this time to refine the character dialogue to ensure it sounds as authentic and immersive as possible.
The Manufacturing Timeline
With Chinese New Year fast approaching, the factories will soon be closing for their annual holiday. Realistically, we do not expect the physical printing to begin before the shutdown.
However, we are using this time to our advantage. We are getting all digital files finalized and submitted now. This allows us to review, edit, and approve digital proofs over the next few weeks so that the moment the printers reopen, we can "hit print" without any further delay.

We hope you have been doing well. Thanks again for your incredible support of Legacy of Eastbrook Hills! The time has come to finalize your pledges.
Pledge Manager Going Live: BackerKit Invitations
The Pledge Manager is how you will confirm your pledge, provide your shipping address, and add any extra copies or games you wish to purchase. We are using BackerKit for this process.
Smoke Test Today: We have just launched the "smoke test," meaning 5% of backers will receive their BackerKit email invitation today (Thursday, December 11th).
Full Launch Tomorrow: Assuming the smoke test goes smoothly, the remaining 95% of emails will go out tomorrow, December 12th.
Please Note: These emails will be sent to the email address attached to your Kickstarter account. Be sure to check spam folders! If your Kickstarter account is linked through an Apple ID, it might prevent the survey email delivery. Please submit a support ticket (link below) in this case.
BackerKit Walkthrough
Here is a quick guide for anyone new to the BackerKit system:
Welcome Screen This is where you'll confirm your pledge level and shipping country. If you backed at the $1 level, click the "Switch Your Pledge Level" link (in small type below the green button) to select your desired reward.
Questions There are no complex questions here, just a confirmation step. Kickstarter backers will see their pledged items already in the cart.
Add-Ons Here, you can add additional copies of Legacy of Eastbrook Hills or other Kolossal Games to your pledge.
Shipping Fees: Shipping costs are weight-based. You'll see estimated shipping fees here, but these may increase if you add heavy items.
"Rest of World" Default: If you don't have a country selected before this screen (common for $1 backers or Late Pledges), shipping may default to "Rest of World" prices. Don't worry! Once you enter your address on the next screen, the correct regional fees will apply.
VAT: If you live in a country where VAT is applicable, those fees will be calculated based on the cost of items and shipping and will appear here.
Shipping & Checkout Fill in your final shipping details. After confirming all costs, click “Place My Order” to finalize and confirm your pledge.

Late Pledges Now LIVE!
If you missed the campaign or have a friend who wants to join, the Late Pledge store is opening tomorrow (Dec. 12th)! We will post a button linking to this on the main campaign page when the full mailout happens tomorrow.
Closing Date Extended
The Pledge Manager is currently scheduled to close its doors on Thursday, January 16th (extended from the previous date). We will update everyone (and you will receive warning emails) as this date approaches.
Note: Any payments for extra items or shipping will not be charged until we close the Pledge Manager! You will still be able to return to your survey link to edit your address up until the final address lock down just before fulfillment.
US Tariffs: Addressing Logistics and Fees
For this campaign, we are making a change to how we collect US import tariffs.
In the past, we delayed collecting these fees until containers were in transit due to frequent tariff fluctuations. While accurate, this caused confusion and logistical delays as many US backers were hesitant to reopen emails and submit a second payment after closing the Pledge Manager.
To simplify the process and streamline logistics for everyone, we will collect the tariff fee now within the Pledge Manager. This fee is based on the average costs applied to our last few campaigns.
Tariff Fee: A $7.50 fee will be collected for all copies of Legacy of Eastbrook Hills shipped to US backers. This fee will appear on the final checkout screen.
This ensures a smoother path to fulfillment once the games are ready.

Backerkit (and late Pledges) opening on December 12th

Hello Backers!
We have a brief update regarding the launch of the Pledge Manager (hosted via BackerKit) and the opening of Late Pledges/Pre-orders.
We are pushing the launch date slightly to ensure the smoothest possible transition and setup for everyone.
New BackerKit Launch Date: December 12th
Our initial goal of launching the Pledge Manager on December 2nd was a little too ambitious. We want to ensure the system is perfectly set up and tested before we invite you in.
The main reason for this slight shift is the data transfer process:
Data Transfer: Backer data from Kickstarter is not scheduled to be transferred into the BackerKit system until December 5th.
Testing & Approval: After the transfer, we require several days to thoroughly test all pledge levels, shipping calculations, and add-ons, followed by the necessary approval from the BackerKit team.
Therefore, we are setting the new, firm launch date for the Pledge Manager and Pre-orders as: Thursday, December 12th.
Longer Pledge Manager Window!
This small delay comes with a silver lining! To compensate for the later start and to give everyone ample time to finalize their pledges, we are extending the closing date of the Pledge Manager.
The Pledge Manager and Late Pledges will now remain open until: Thursday, January 16th (instead of the original January 6th date).
Thank you for your patience as we finalize this critical setup. You will receive a separate email invitation from BackerKit on the 12th when the Pledge Manager is officially live!
